The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is investigating a tragic incident in which an unnamed man was shot and killed. In West Orange, the incident took place close to 42 Lakeside Avenue.
The Shooting in West Orange Today:
The police were summoned to a location around 1:10 p.m. due to allegations of unusual activities. When they arrived, they discovered a man who had been shot many times inside a vehicle. A doctor pronounced the man dead at the site. The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office is currently in charge of conducting the investigation, which is only getting started, to determine what transpired. They’re investigating the shooting to learn additional details.
After a man was shot and died on Sunday afternoon in West Orange, New Jersey, police closed down a portion of Lakeside Avenue.
“I never expected this to happen—it’s shocking,” remarked John Burlew. His friend’s body was found inside a dark-colored Subaru. The driver’s side glass was smashed, and the SUV had many gunshot holes, one of which was in the passenger’s side door.
“I heard about seven or eight shots and looked out the window,” stated Nabeel Siraj. Five minutes after I saw four or five cops arrive on the scene, the street was shut off.
Detectives are putting a lot of effort into investigating leads and speaking with witnesses to get additional information regarding the incident. Anyone who saw the event or has critical information to share is being asked to come forward and assist with the investigation.
The news of the shooting has left the people of West Orange feeling startled and depressed. In the vicinity of the tragedy, friends and neighbors gathered for a candlelight vigil to honor James Anderson, the victim, and provide mutual support at this difficult time.
