Saturday, January 27, 2024, saw the quiet and dignified passing of Weldon “Peanut” Coslet, 76, of Porter, Indiana. His parents were Russell and Thelma (Barney) Coslet, and he was born on September 12, 1947, in Valparaiso, IN.
Family Details:
Anthony Wayne (Kristen) Coslet, his son; Richard Coslet, his brother; Anna Kalbe, his sister; five grandsons: Michael Coslet, Josh Coslet, Jacob Coslet, Jonathan Coslet; Cheyanne (Doug) Essany, his granddaughter; numerous nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren; and a large circle of friends survives Peanut. Dawnmarie Lynn Comer, his daughter, and brother Russell Coslet all passed away before him.
Peanut spent 51 years as a firefighter with the Porter Fire Department. He also worked long for the Porter Street Department and Bethlehem Steel. Peanut loved Porter Beach and singing. Along with Raymond Wesley and Lewis Craig Sr., he was a member of the local “Three Stooges.”
Memorial:
The memorial service will occur at Edmonds & Evans Chesterton, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN 46304, on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. On Wednesday, January 31, 2024, the funeral home will host a memorial viewing from 5:00 p.m. until the time of the ceremony at 6:00 p.m.
