Michael Anthony Cole Jr., the student, was pronounced dead on Monday night after being discovered along the Selma Highway in Montgomery. On Monday, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency issued an emergency warning for the 16-year-old who had gone missing since January 25. However, the police canceled the notice on Tuesday, January 30.

According to court records, 18-year-olds Nedvin Maynard Jones Jr. and Nicholas Treyvon King-Sheppard are charged with felony murder. During a press conference, officials revealed that they had found the missing teen’s body and arrested two people in connection with the case. Dr. Melvin Brown, superintendent of Montgomery Public Schools, has addressed the public since the devastating news was disclosed.
