Drew Frith Burton was welcomed to paradise on January 23, 2024. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, cousin, friend, USC Gamecocks football enthusiast, beachgoer, and warrior. Drew lived a wonderful, lively, tragically brief life with his wife, Meredith Gernerd Burton, and children Emma Marie and Mary Kate.
Who is Drew Frith Burton?
Drew was born in Chestnut Hill on August 28, 1979, and was the cherished son of Thomas and Nancy Burton (née Frith). Drew graduated from Wissahickon High School in 1998 and attended the University of South Carolina, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business. Many of his long-time buddies were classmates.
Drew was the Director of Equity and Fixed Income Operations for Black Rock Financial Services. He was brilliant and hardworking; his family brought him the most joy. He was the beloved son-in-law of Mark and Patricia Gernerd and an adored uncle to many nephews and nieces. Drew enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family in Avalon, New Jersey, and was a long-time member of Cedarbrook Country Club. He was a passionate University of South Carolina graduate and a devoted Philadelphia Eagles supporter. He also meticulously researched weather patterns; you could always rely on ‘Doppler Drew’ to predict the latest weather forecast!

Drew will be recalled for his never-ending smile, quick humor, and love for Meredith and his kids. Everyone will sorely miss him. A viewing will occur on Sunday, January 28, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Boyd Horrox Givnish Life Celebration Home of East Norriton, 200 West Germantown Pike. Drew’s life will be celebrated with a Mass at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 29, 2024, at St. Helena Church in Blue Bell. Interment was held at Calvary Cemetery in West Conshohocken.
