Dead Indian Couple Sold $4 Million Home Amid Financial Crisis.

Originally from India, the Kamal family had made a name for themselves in the US computer sector. In one of the wealthiest communities in the United States, the house of a wealthy Indian-origin couple and their teenage daughter was discovered empty. The bodies of Rakesh Kamal,57, his wife Teena,54, and their daughter Ariana,18, were found on Thursday night, according to Norfolk District Attorney (DA) Michael Morrissey. Officials report that preliminary findings indicate a “deadly incident of domestic violence” involving no third parties.

The Indian-born Kamal family had made a name for themselves in the US computer sector and had previously operated the EduNova educational systems firm. The business is currently closed.

From Making Millions To Filing For Bankruptcy:

After a lengthy career in education consulting, Rakesh Kamal—a Stanford, MIT Sloan School of Management and Boston University graduate—founded an Ed-tech firm in 2016 alongside his spouse.

“A student success system’ marketed by EduNova aims to raise students’ grades in middle school, high school, and college,” the Boston Globe newspaper stated.

According to state documents, the business did well enough initially, so the Kamals bought the 19,000-square-foot estate with 11 bedrooms for $4 million in 2019.

However, according to the records, the firm was liquidated in December 2021. For the couple—who had previously gone by the names Rick and Teena—this was the beginning of a financial disaster.

After going into foreclosure a year prior, their expansive estate was sold for $3 million to Wilsondale Associates LLC, situated in Massachusetts. The estate’s estimated value was $5.45 million when it was sold.

The couple’s financial hardship was further highlighted in September 2022 when Teena Kamal, an Indian alumnus of Delhi University and Harvard University, filed for bankruptcy.

What Had Been Going On Thursday?

At 7:24 p.m. on Thursday, police got a call from a Kamal family cousin who had been by to see how they were doing after being absent for many days.

Officials stated that the estate was occupied solely by the three Kamal family members at the time and that the wealthy neighborhood was “a nice neighborhood, a safe community.”
When authorities got to the scene, they discovered Rakesh, Teena, and Ariana’s bodies inside the house.

The investigation into the “horrible tragedy” is ongoing, according to the Norfolk District Attorney, who stated they will be able to provide a conclusive motive. They won’t be able to determine whether to label the occurrence as a suicide or a murder, he added, until the medical examiner’s decision. Yet, he claimed that a gun had been discovered next to Rakesh Kamal’s corpse.

“All I can tell you is there was a gun on the site, and it was apparent to all of the people who went in that all three members of the family were dead,” Morrissey stated.

Goals for Ariana:

Based on her LinkedIn profile, the eighteen-year-old Ariana attended Middlebury College, a $64,800-per-year elite liberal arts institution in Vermont, where she studied neuroscience.

Milton Academy, Ariana’s school, described her as a kind, intelligent, and charming young lady who was “just beginning to realize her full potential” in a statement. According to officials, this was a shocking incident—there hasn’t been a documented homicide in Dover since 2020.
