Balfour Beatty is an infrastructure company that finances, creates, produces, and sustains essential infrastructure in the United States and the United Kingdom. But the company was accused of making improper employee background checks.
The Balfour Beatty settlement program comes as a result of a lawsuit filed against the company for violating both the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and the California Investigative Consumer Reporting Agencies Act (ICRAA) between August 2019 and February 2022.
According to Washington Examiner, the company has denied any misconduct, but Balfour Beatty has agreed to pay a settlement of $350,000 to settle the claims made against them.

Who Is Eligible to Receive Balfour Beatty Settlement Payment?
Eligible applicants are those individuals who were the subject of a consumer report prepared for employment with Balfour Beatty Infrastructure between Aug. 13, 2019, and Feb. 28, 2022.
According to Top Class Actions, eligible applicants may receive up to $1,300 for California residents and up to $130 for non-California residents.
Applications for the Balfour Beatty settlement program are open until April 25, giving qualified applicants enough time to apply for their payments.
To receive the Balfour Beatty settlement benefits, class members must present and submit a valid claim form by April 25, 2023.
