Police Found A 20-Year-Old Man Dead Just One Block Away From Shooting Scene

SAN ANTONIO – A man who was found dead a block away from a shooting scene has been identified by the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office.

David Allen Rezentes, 20, died from a gunshot wound to the torso, according to authorities, the San Antonio Police Department.

San Antonio police said the shooting happened around 10 p.m. on March 25 in the 3200 block of El Paso Street on the West Side.

Upon arrival, officers found a car parked in the street with its engine still running. No one was inside or near the vehicle, but it did have a gunshot hole in the passenger window and they immediately understood something horrific has happened.

Shortly after, officials received an injured/sick call at 19th Street and Elvira, just one block south of the scene and they started connecting the dots.

Officers then found Rezentes lying face down on the sidewalk, police said, which was a gruesome sight to encounter.

EMS responded and pronounced him dead at the scene at 10:35 p.m., unfortunately.

Police did not have a description of the shooter and the shooting is under investigation. We will update any information that we get, within the next few days.
