Cities and States are still sending direct payments in January giving Americans a chance to claim between $300 to $1,05o. States have stepped in by sending help through direct payments as the current inflation rate stands at 7.1 percent.
Here are nine cities and states that still send out payments before January ends.
1. IDAHO – $300
The city of Idaho is giving its taxpayers who filed 2020 and 2021 taxes, a tax rebate worth $300 or equal to 10 percent of the tax amount on their 2020 income. The joint filers will receive $600. The rebate is still going out this month.
2. COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS – $500
In Cook County, Illinois, chosen participants will continue to receive a $500 monthly payment for two years taken from the $42 million program. The payment started in December 2022 with a total of 3,250 individuals participating in the program.
3. EVANSTON, ILLINOIS – $500
In Evanston, Illinois, $500 is given to 150 people. They were chosen to receive the payment as part of the guaranteed income program. The payments started in December 2022 and eligible recipients will continue to receive the money for one year.
4. ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA – $500
Alexandria Recurring Income for Success and Equity or ARISE is giving 17o participants in Alexandria Virginia an amount of $500 monthly payment good for two years. The payments will be received starting the last week of January in the form of debit cards.
5. MADISON, WISCONSIN – $500
The Madison Forward Fund is giving guaranteed income to randomly selected 155 low-income families with a monthly payment worth $500 and will continue for a year. To be eligible, applicants must be a resident with at least one child and earning less than 20% of the poverty line.

6. PENNSYLVANIA – $650
Pennsylvanians can receive rebates ranging from $650 to $975 on property taxes if they paid rent in 2021. To be eligible, homeowners’ income should be less than $35,000 a year while renters should have less than $15,000.
7. COLORADO – $750
The Colorado Cash Back program is giving tax returns to anyone who filed for an extension and submitted it by October 17. They will receive the payment by January 31. Individual filers will receive $750 while joint filers will receive $1,500.
8. NEW YORK – $1,000
The Creatives Rebuild New York program gives 2,400 artists in New York a $1,000 monthly payment for 18 months. They can use the money by any means.
9. CALIFORNIA – $1,050
California taxpayers can receive a one-time payment between $200 and $1,050 as part of the Middle-Class Tax Refund program. The debit card will be sent through the mail between December 17 and January 14, to those who changed their bank information after filing. Those who changed their address will receive their debit card through the mail between January 30 and February 14.
