Georgia: Teenager Got Shot in his leg while Campaigning for Raphael Warnock in the State

On 1st December, Thursday a 15-year-old youngster was shot in his leg during canvassing for Georgia Senator Raphael Warnock in Savannah city. According to the investigators, the bullet came through a door of a home in the city.

How the teenager got shot in Georgia?

According to The New York Times, the young canvasser was shot by a man named Jimmy Paiz behind a door. However, the reasons are not known yet. The identity of the teenager has not been revealed. The police haven’t cleared up whether the shooting was influenced by any political motive or not.

The door through which Paiz shot the boy had several windows and the visibility of the victim has also assumed to be unclear for the accused during the time of the shooter. Moreover, the accused has no criminal record previously. So, the cause of the shooting is still unknown to the authorities and the public. 

Nevertheless, Paiz was taken to the Chatham County Jail and had been charged $5,700. As per the records, he was staying at the residence for a long time and is a registered voter of the state.

What does the Georgian Senator, Raphael Warnock has to state about the shooting?

Raphael Warnock provided his statement on the case on Friday after the victim was identified as a canvasser in his campaign. He has shown his agony for the incident. In support of the victim and his family, Warnock has shared his prayers for the speedy recovery of the teenager.

The campaign was organized after Raphael Warnock’s runoff election for the seat of Georgian Senator against the Republican representative Herschel Walker on 29th November. In the general elections, Warnock defeated Walker by 37,000 votes.
