Mom, Boyfriend, Accused of Seattle Boy Murder, Victim of Physical Abuse

In connection with the death of 4-year-old Kennan Ford on Dec. 11,  the boy’s biological mother, Cynthia Enyeart, 23, and her boyfriend, Junior Asghedom, 20, are accused of second-degree murder. Investigations have shown that Kennan has consistently experienced physical abuse, and head injuries result from abuse, not an incident in the bathtub, as the mother initially reported to the police.

No Attempt to Save the Young Boy

First, the mother, Cynthia Enyeart, 23, and her boyfriend, Junior Asghedom, 20, claimed the young child had fallen out of the bathtub and suffered fatal injuries. But soon after, the couple allegedly started fabricating stories, eventually accusing one another of torturing the boy.

According to the charging documents, the boy reportedly stopped eating, and his eyes were blackened and swollen shut. The couple chose to wait until Kennan passed away rather than dial 911 or bring the child to the hospital. When paramedics from the Seattle Fire Department arrived at the family’s house, they discovered Kennan already dead with injuries that, according to reports, were not consistent with a bathtub fall, people.com reported.

It is unknown whether Enyeart and Asghedom have retained attorneys or entered pleas to the charges against them. The couple is accused of second-degree murder, and their subsequent court appearance is set for Dec. 22.

Grief of a Father

Chris Ford, Ford’s father, repeatedly called Child Protective Services to complain about the mother’s actions. When Ford asked Kennan if his mother had hit him, the young boy responded in the affirmative, indicating that there were signs that his son was being physically abused. Every time his son visited his mother, Chris Ford and his brother Clarence feared for his life, and Chris Ford thought his son’s passing could have been prevented, a source wrote.

When the child is in his father’s care, he will be safe, according to a former neighbor who saw the child being physically abused. This incident would not have occurred if the child had been rescued from his mother.

Ford wants to see the mother and her boyfriend punished for what they allegedly did, and he also wants to see them both languish in jail.
