How will be the weather in Texas on Thanksgiving?
Texas will see severe weather on Thanksgiving. The rain will be more intense than the previous situation, with the possibility of multiple inches of rain and maybe some severe storms that might cause hail and/or high winds.
Predicted Timing of the Heavy Rain in Texas-
Our high-resolution model predicts on Thursday morning, storms will be over far northwest regions of Texas and will gradually move eastward into Houston by Thursday afternoon and evening.
Total precipitation:
Because of the weather system’s tendency for slow movement, moderate to heavy rain may last for several hours in certain places, especially those north of I-10. According to NOAA’s 5-day rain projection, Houston should expect average rainfall totals of 1-2″ in the south and southwest and 2-3″ close the north of Texas.
The Greater Houston area, as well as regions to the north, east, and southeast, are highlighted by NOAA’s Weather Prediction Center as places with a chance of heavy rain and minor flooding.

Risk of severe weather in Texas:
The atmosphere is predicted to get warmer on Thursday that enhances the possibility of unstable winds and storm. There may be strong winds that will produce hail up to 1 inch in diameter and wind gusts up to 60 mph. Greater Houston and the southern regions are at low risk (level 1 out of 5) for severe weather, according to NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center.
The weather is to get stable over the weekend after heavy rain on Thursday that continues through Friday.
