Juveniles involved in Atlantic Station shooting, 1 dead, 6 injured

A shooting incident in the Atlantic Station commercial district killed one person and injured six others. Multiple gunshots were reported, and police believe a group of juveniles are the primary suspects. A male victim was found dead when the police arrived at the crime scene.

Violation, Dispute, and Gunfire

Due to curfew violations, juvenile suspects are escorted off the property of the Atlantic Station commercial district by off-duty APD and Atlantic Station security guards. The juveniles were also misbehaving, and the dispute got worse, and until it triggered gunfire, it is not yet clear how the shooting incident started.

The suspects are believed to be 15 to 21 years old, and their identity is not yet confirmed. According to the police report, there are possibly two shooters, according to the msn.com report.

After receiving a report of multiple gunshots in the area, police responded immediately and arrived at the district at 8 p.m. One of the victims has already died at the scene, another is in critical condition, and the remaining five are injured.

The Atlanta police are calling the attention of any witnesses to come and report the incident to help the investigation.

Atlanta’s Curfew Policy

The 3 p.m. in Atlanta Curfew is strictly enforced for those under 18. This city rule has significantly impacted the proportion of crimes involving juveniles.

Atlantic Stations implemented a new youth curfew policy and tightened security earlier this year. A spokesperson for Atlantic Station confirmed that the 3 p.m. Youth under 18 are properly served. A parent or guardian must accompany all minors and cannot accompany more than four youths, as indicated in the curfew policy.

Furthermore, no one under the age of 21 is permitted on the grounds of Atlantic Station after 9 p.m., whether with or without a guardian, a source posted.
