Review of “True Beauty”: What can we expect?
The well-liked TvN show True Beauty took an unexpected turn in episode 12, revealing Jukyung’s face to her schoolmates. The viewers were astonished to learn that Jukyung’s true identity hasn’t yet been disclosed in the original webtoon, which is well ahead of the show’s plot. Returning to the front, Sujin is enraged at the beginning of the episode and decides to manipulate Jukyung to win over Suho. The next day, Jukyung learns she won the Goddess of Instagram competition as she walks into her classroom. Sujin watches her classmates celebrate her from a distance while remaining still. On the way home, Sujin runs across Jukyung’s previous bullies. The two devise a plan involving an image exchange in which Sujin promises to provide Seojun’s photographs to them in exchange for images of Jukyung without makeup.
Regarding Jukyung
While this is happening, Jyukyug can be seen frantically searching the classroom for her jewelry, which is subsequently found to have been stolen the whole time by Sujin. When Sujin runs into Suho, she confesses to holding the necklace and burns it in a flaming container while begging Suho to accept her and leave Jukyung alone. Suho rejects her and abandons her at the stew. In the pivotal moment, Sujin executes her strategy by dispersing Jukyung’s old images throughout the campus. As she enters her class all happy, Jukyung is greeted with gasps and glares from her classmates who had shown her the photographs. As she exits the classroom, Jukyung struggles to hide her distress and even avoids Suho, who attempts to assist her.
*The thirteenth episode of “True Beauty” has officially been released.*
13th episode review
In the last episode of True Beauty, which makes its victorious return, Ju-Kyung finally dares to embrace her open face and personality. In part, Joon-words of Woo’s inspiration provide Ju-Kyung the self-assurance she needs to return to school and stop being teased by everyone. Undoubtedly, it is a triumphant return. Watching her stand up to the women and prevent them from demeaning Soo-Ho is nice. When Soo-Ho appears and hugs her, it serves to confirm this.Several other subplots continue to develop even though the program’s primary emphasis is on the concepts of Beauty and the question of what this concept’s utmost importance is. All of this is inside, and personality is more important than outward looks.
This is not the situation in high school, where there is a hierarchical system that may be alienating and damaging at the bottom. Because I experienced bullying for five years and had frequent suicidal thoughts, I can identify with Ju-struggles Kyung. Though I think having a lovely face is ultimately less desirable than learning from those experiences, growing yourself, and finding the strength to stand up for yourself.
