According to Dr. Boghuma Titanji, an infectious disease specialist at Emory University, he is being bombarded by questions, both by friends and other doctors, about the need for COVID-19 vaccine boosters. Even the experts seem confused, she said, NPR reported.

The messaging mayhem, according to Titanji, is overwhelming the public that it has blurred the actual problem. She said, “How is anyone supposed to navigate all this information? It’s a lot.”

The confusing messages on COVID-19 booster shots

The confusion seems to stem from the differing statements regarding the booster shots.

In an earlier report, both the Biden administration and the White House’s chief medical adviser, Dr. Anthony Fauci, said that the booster shots will be for all adults, eight months after their first mRNA vaccine. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy and the director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Dr. Rochelle Walensky, also supported the idea.

In another report, some scientists from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) published a review that says the booster shot is not needed by the general public.
