A young man was allegedly gunned down Sunday during a shady car sale deal in northeast Harris County.
Kelvin Shepard, 20, and his friend went to a property in the 15100 block of Winter Dawn Way to purchase a vehicle, according to Harris County Sheriff’s Department investigators.
What Went Wrong?
Officials believe that the suspects who were supposed to sell the car to the men climbed into Shepard’s vehicle at a certain moment during the deal.
Shepard ended up being shot and killed in a probably attempted robbery attempt when all the men were within the car, according to investigators.
Shepard and his friend were somehow able to get out of the vehicle after which the suspects took off.
The vehicle has been described as a forest green 2006 Chevrolet Malibu with many scratches on its front right-hand side and a damaged headlight, according to police.
Investigators Trying To ID Individuals Driving The Car
According to a Harris County Sheriff’s Department official, they suspect the car is “out there somewhere, and they are working to obtain definite identification on the two people who are driving it.”
Authorities also believe that the two suspects who escaped are residents of the Humble community where the attack occurred.
Sky Harris, Shepard’s girlfriend said that she had just texted him.
