Older patients who consume alcohol regularly report better quality of life before and after surgery

Older adults (aged 60 or older) who consume potentially unhealthy amounts of alcohol report significantly better mobility

Probably move around better because they can't get pain meds so they get loaded and feel no pain

The only problem is that long term use of booze and prescription meds leads to damage in your body or addiction because you're self medicating

The Dietary Guidelines for Americans recommends that adults of legal drinking age can choose not to drink, or to drink in moderation by limiting intake

The Guidelines also do not recommend that individuals who do not drink alcohol start drinking for any reason

If adults of legal drinking age choose to drink alcoholic beverages, drinking less is better for health than drinking more

By not drinking too much, you can reduce the risk of  short- and long-term health risks.
