3 kilograms of cocaine seized when officers conduct traffic stop involving an unrestrained child

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas (Texasbreaking.com)- It was announced by Williamson County Sheriff Robert Chody that Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop that yielded a cocaine seizure of three kilograms.

The traffic stop took place on January 8 just before 1:00 p.m. on IH-35 at Mile Marker 272.

“The van was stopped for a Child Unrestrained By A Safety Belt and or Driving in the Left Lane While Not Passing,” wrote Sheriff Chody on Facebook.

The three kilograms were said to be found in a false compartment within the vehicle.

One suspect, Mario A. Lopez, 36, has been charged with 1st-degree Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance PG 1 > 400 Grams and was booked into the Williamson County Jail, reported the sheriff.

An adult female was a passenger in the van and has not yet been charged in this incident.
