Texas – That would be the Texas Liquor Control Act. If you plan on spiking your eggnog or popping a bottle of Champagne this holiday season, you may want to run over to your nearest liquor store straight away! Laws that were established a few years after the Prohibition ended, are still being administered today.
The Texas Liquor Control Act, created in 1935, bans liquor sales statewide on certain days. It’s a commonly known fact that the law applies on Sundays, but not everyone is aware that it includes Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.
