Public invited to attend guard team in-service

The public has been invited to join the Kerrville Parks and Recreation Department on Friday, August 3 at 9 AM, at the Olympic Pool, for an open in-service to watch the award-winning guard teams and lifeguards practice their skills.

The in-service is described as the ongoing training that lifeguards attend throughout the summer after completing the lifeguard training course. The in-service provides the public with the opportunity to observe the aquatics staff showcasing their skills.

“This summer, the staff at the Olympic Pool received ratings of ‘Exceeds Expectations’ on both of the Unannounced Observational Audits performed by Jeff Ellis & Associates. In addition to performing well on the audits, the two competitive lifeguard teams did exceptionally well at their competitions. The guard teams placed first and second at three separate lifeguard competitions, two regional competitions, and the state championships,” says the Kerrville Parks and Recreation Department.

The two guard teams are also still accepting sponsorships. If anyone is interested in supporting the teams through sponsorship, you are encouraged to go to the in-service to view the dedication and teamwork of the teams.

The in-service will be held at the Olympic Pool, located at 601 Olympic Drive, on Friday, August 3 at 9 AM.
