Band director charged with online solicitation of a minor

DALLAS, Texas (TexasBreaking.com)- The band director from North Mesquite High School, identified as James Earl Cude, 54, has been arrested and charged with online solicitation on a minor, according to CBSDFW.

Dallas Morning News reported that Cude agreed to meet with an undercover Dallas detective who was posing as a 13-year-old boy on Grindr.



The arrest affidavit said that multiple messages were sent from Cude saying he wanted to perform sexual acts on the boy.

Cude went to meet the supposed 13-year-old at a Lakewood restaurant but police were there instead.

North Mesquite High School has placed Cude on administrating leave during the investigation and a letter was sent out to parents.


CBSDFW added that Cude previously taught at Whitesboro High School in Grayson County.
