In addition, Mejia will not be permitted to take part in the fire camp program that is being offered for the inmates.

Delta Conservation Camp

The location of the Delta Conservation Camp may be found at 6246 Lambie Road. It first opened its doors in June of 1988 and is currently administered in a partnership between the state prison system and Cal Fire.

The provision of prison fire crews for Cal Fire’s Sonoma, Lake, and Napa Units as well as Solano County is the camp’s primary objective; however, crews may also be dispatched to other parts of the state if necessary, according to The Daily Republic.

The use of prisoner labor provides a source of manpower for conservation efforts. The in-camp Cal Fire project is a Digital Decal Sign Shop, which generates letters, numbers, and striping of vehicles for use by fire and police enforcement departments.

Th website also revealed that according to the statistics provided by the state prison system, since 1977, 99% of all inmates who attempted to escape from an adult facility, camp, or community-based program without authorization have been located and returned to their proper place of confinement.
