KENDALL COUNTY – Yesterday, officers were called to a Burglary in Progress with possible shots fired where they arrested one female suspect who had allegedly been shot by a homeowner.
The incident took place in the 600 block of Kendall Parkway in the Kendall Pointe Subdivision on June 5 at approximately 2:05 p.m.
The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office determined upon arrival at the scene that an attempted burglary had occurred.
KCSO explained that the homeowner told deputies that they were in their living room when they heard a knock at the door. The victim continued to say that the knocks became louder and the doorbell started to ring continuously. Concerned, the homeowner went to the front door and cracked it open when an unknown female forced her way inside.
After a brief altercation and struggle, the victim was able to grab her pistol and fired six shots in the suspect’s direction as they fled the scene, reported KCSO.
The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office, assisted by the Boerne Police Department K9 and San Antonio Police Departments Helicopter, and the Fair Oaks Ranch Police Department, were able to locate the suspect and apprehended her without incident.
The suspect, identified as Fabiola Martinez, was transported to the Boerne Methodist Emergency Room where she was treated for a gunshot wound to the right ear, added KCSO.
Martinez was later booked into the Kendall County Detention Center and faces a Burglary of Habitation charge.
