Off-duty BCSO deputy arrested for allegedly falsifying logbooks

BEXAR COUNTY – After being accused of falsifying logbooks, off-duty Bexar County Sheriff’s Detention Deputy Mishal Matthew, 23, was placed on unpaid administrative leave following his arrest by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Public Integrity Unit, according to BCSO.

Matthew was arrested on a warrant for Tampering with a Government Record at approximately 5:57 p.m. on May 14, stated BCSO.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office reported that Matthew had been placed on administrative leave for an incident that took place in March 2019.

It was said by BCSO that Probationary Deputy Lucio Camacho was also involved in the related incident and was terminated for failure to perform satisfactorily during his probationary period and for failing to maintain standards of conduct demanded of a person associated with law enforcement.

Mishal Matthew has been charged with Tampering with a Government Record, a 3rd Degree Felony and a bond had not yet been set.

An administrative investigation is ongoing by BCSO Internal Affairs and the Public Integrity Unit.

Matthew was assigned to the Bexar County Adult Detention Center and had been an employee with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office since March 2018.
