HOUSTON – Tuesday morning, May 14th, police received a call around 8:40 a.m. about a stabbing in the 8300 block of Quail Shot Drive. Tiffany Nicholas, a mother of four, was discovered stabbed to death inside her southwest Houston residence.

“I just started screaming,” Patricia Nichols, the victim’s mother stated. “I can’t believe that’s my daughter.”

When officers arrived on scene they discovered there were no signs of forced entry to the residence but inside police stated there were apparent signs of a struggle. There was also a discovery of two broken steak knives in the house.

The children who lived at the house had all left for school around 7:30 a.m., detectives speculate that the chances of the suspect knowing the victim is likely and would know when Nicholas would be home alone.

“At this point, we do need to talk to the person that called to see what happened there. That’s a person of interest in this,” stated Houston Police Department Det. Sean Sylvester.

At this time police are canvassing the area for any security camera footage of the incident while the family attempts to understand why this happened and who could have possibly done this.
