Off-duty officer shoots man apparently assaulting another with a knife

DALLAS – On the evening of Saturday, May 11th, an off-duty Dallas police officer was stopped at the Seven-Eleven at 111 North Carroll Avenue pumping gas while still in full uniform.



While filling up his vehicle the officials witnessed a man allegedly chasing after another with a knife. According to officers, the four-year-veteran intervened in the apparent assault and fired his weapon.

The alleged suspect was transported to a local area hospital, officials state that he is in stable condition.



Currently, the expected charge in this incident is aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
