SAN ANTONIO – New details have been released and an arrest has been made by the San Antonio Police Department regarding the recent kidnapping of 3-year-old Zanyah Lucio, who went missing on Monday but was found safe on Tuesday.

Police Chief McManus provided a media briefing stating that the 3-year-old and her grandmother, who at the time had court custody of the girl, were inside the grandmother’s home when the girl’s mother, Gabriela Lucio, broke in through the window to take the child.

McManus then detailed that the grandmother was knocked down and the mother proceeded to take the child.

After a tip was received, SAPD along with the U.S. Marshal’s Office arrived in the 2100 block of NE Loop 410 at approximately 1:00 p.m. where they located the mother and child, according to McManus.

Gabriela Lucio was arrested and faces parental kidnapping charges, said Chief McManus.
