FORT WORTH – Monday, April 22, a horrific scene was discovered when police received a call to investigate a residence at the 2000 block of Speckle Drive near Basswood Boulevard in North Fort Worth.
A 32-year-old father allegedly murdered his two very young children and another adult family member before turning the gun upon himself.
The man is identified, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner, as Ronald Parra, he died of his injuries of a self-inflicted bullet wound to the skull. Parra was in training to become an investigator with Child Protective Services.
The Medical Examiner ruled that the deaths of the children, Parra’s one-year-old son and four-year-old daughter, are both homicides. Both children died from bullet wounds.
The shootings were a unique situation and police believe there was no danger to the public.
These homicides have turned this quiet little community upside down.
“It’s just shaken us up as a community. We’re all just in shock,” said neighbor Claudia Robles. “My initial thought was what in the world is going on?”
