Driver killed in crash over weekend identified, according to officials

FORT WORTH – According to the Tarrant County medical examiner a driver that was killed in a weekend crash has been identified as Robert Daniel of Fort Worth, the accident took place on the South Freeway.

Daniel, age 51, died from his injuries he sustained from the accident and was pronounced dead at 4:40 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, his death was ruled as an accident according to officials.

Police stated that Daniel was thrown from his vehicle after it rolled several times.

The crash took place in the northbound lanes of the South Freeway of Interstate 35W.

Daniel was driving at an excessive amount of speed in his Mini Cooper when he passed a tractor-trailer and lost control, stated police.

Police said the Mini Cooper went off the highway and launched into the air, landing and rolling numerous times.

Witnesses informed police Daniel and a woman passenger were both ejected from the vehicle, the woman was taken to the local hospital for treatment. There is no update on her injuries or condition.

Daniel died at the hospital from his injuries.
