Arrest made by multiple agencies in connection with March 2018 murder

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (TexasBreaking.com)- Authorities have arrested David Gene Becka, 68, in connection to a murder that happened on March 29, 2018.



The incident took place at the Longbranch Saloon at 11070 US Hwy 87 E, at approximately 2 a.m.

Bexar County Sheriff’s Office stated that Becka and Laval Thomas, Jr., 48, left the bar and walked to their vehicles.

“Laval, who was driving a black Hummer, was reported to have driven towards the front of the bar while David, who was driving a pickup truck, stopped behind Laval’s vehicle. Moments later, a single gunshot was heard and Laval was found shot while sitting in the driver’s seat,” detailed BCSO.



Becka was said to have fled the scene and Laval later died due to his injuries at SAMMC.

On February 7, 2019, an arrest warrant was issued for David Becka regarding the incident.

Due to the collaboration between BCSO Homicide Investigators and Deputies with the BCSO Fugitive Apprehension Unit, Becka was taken into custody without incident at his home in the 10400 block of Kosub Lane.
