Two arrested after 19 vehicles found at possible residential chop shop

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (TexasBreaking.com)- Two women, identified as Dawn Reeves, 46, and Amy Jeffcoat, 32, were taken into custody after a large number of vehicles were recovered at a suspected residential chop shop on Saturday, according to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

BCSO spokesperson Johnny Garcia confirmed that deputies were called to the property, located in the 5700 block of Higdon Road, earlier this week after receiving a complaint.

“Luckily we had the assistance of SAPD Eagle, which helped us facilitate [an] aerial fly-over, which revealed multiple vehicles in the back,” Garcia said. “They looked completely stripped.”

Garcia added, “This residence here, it’s been known to potentially have been a chop shop for quite some time.”

During their initial investigation into a possible chop shop being operated from the property, authorities got word that a stolen pickup was tracked to the property.

Upon securing a search warrant, authorities found a total of 19 vehicles, totaling around $150,000, including sports vehicles, four-door sedans, and pickup trucks. One pickup reportedly was stolen as early as two days prior to the search warrant.

All vehicles, possibly stolen from the San Antonio area, were likely total losses, according to Garcia.

The investigation is still ongoing. Reeves and Jeffcoat were arrested on unrelated charges.
