Bandera officials cancel tomorrow’s Christmas parade

BANDERA, Texas (HCBN)- The Bandera Christmas Night Parade was set to happen tomorrow, December 7, but has since been cancelled by city officials due to tomorrow’s possibility of rain.

As a reminder, Jaki Perkins, President of the Bandera Chamber of Commerce said in a Facebook post today that the Shopper’s Jubilee is still happening.

Perkins’ Facebook post reads, “The time has come to cancel tomorrow’s Christmas Night Parade. This is tough as we were all looking so forward to it! If only I could control Mother Nature! It is better to be safe. With that said, please remember that the Shopper’s Jubilee is still on, rain or shine!!! Let’s all get out there tomorrow night and Saturday and show the LOVE to our Bandera Businesses!!!! A special thanks to the Bandera Business Association for working so graciously with the Bandera Chamber of Commerce on this event!!!!”

The Bandera Marshal’s Office also added a post saying, “The National Weather Service is predicting 3-5 inches of rain tomorrow and an 80% chance of rain at the parade time. It is just not safe to attempt to have a parade, at night on Main St. in those conditions.”

Please be on the lookout for weather updates from HCBN Chief Weather Forecaster, Tommie Carter Jr.

The flyer below details the events that are happening this weekend in Bandera.
