UVALDE, TX According to a Uvalde Police Department press release, 2 students from Morales Junior High School were arrested last week after their intentions to commit a school shooting were discovered.

As stated in the press release, “On April 19, 2018, the Uvalde Police Department received information regarding two male juveniles, ages 13 & 14, planning to conduct a school shooting on their senior year (2022) at the Uvalde High School.”

KSAT News 12 reports that the students were planning a “Columbine-like” shooting. It is said that the two students had originally planned an attack that would fall on the Columbine anniversary date, April 20, but decided to move their plan up to have the mass casualty event happen this year.

The arrests of the two students took place on April 25, 2018. The students were then taken into custody at the Juvenile Detention Facility in Del Rio, Texas.
