At least three people were injured in a shooting in the West 7th area of Forth Worth on early Sunday, police said.
Police officers were informed around 2.10 a.m. that several people had been shot in the West 7th area, a popular bar and restaurant area west of downtown Fort Worth. The condition of those injured was not known and the police are investigating the incident.
According to a police news release, officers who responded to the scene “located several victims” near Norwood and Bledsoe streets, a block east of University Boulevard. The police confirmed that three people were the victims in the shooting.
Victims Were Taken To Hospital; Witnesses Share What They Saw
All three victims were taken to a local hospital. According to a witness, one victim was shot in the leg and was eventually released from the hospital.
Vints Arias, a witness who spoke to WFAA, said he was just a feet away from the shooting. “We saw people running from over there, and over there, we thought fireworks,” he said, adding: “This is nuts. The neighborhood is normally chill.”
Across the street of where the shooting happened, a gun and cigar shop owner said that the bullets shuttered his front door and hit the paintings on the walls.
Another witness, Trey Lockhard, said the area was full of people because of the SMU vs TCU football game.
Police Looking for Suspects, Asking Information from the Public
Police are still on the lookout for the suspects responsible for the shooting and had asked the public to come forward if they know any information about the incident and the suspects.
