Shana Chappell, the mother of Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Kareem M. Nikoui, who died in the suicide attack at Kabul Airport in August has invited Donald Trump to her son’s funeral after the former president commented on Chappell’s viral social media post against President Joe Biden.
Chappell asked Trump to attend the funeral service that is scheduled to happen at the Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, California, on Sept. 18.
Chappell was in the spotlight recently after she attacked Biden about the recent suicide bombing by the Islamic State (ISI-K) militant group that killed her son and 12 other U.S. military service members. Chappell accused Biden of having “blood on his hands” over the attack.
Chappell also claims that Trump won the 2020 presidential election.
In a post she uploaded on Aug. 30, she wrote: “If my president Trump was in his rightful seat then my son and the other [heroes] would still be alive!!!!” The post has been shared more than 16, 000 times already.
A day after Chappell’s post, Trump released a statement stating that her comment was “100% correct.”
Trump added: “If I were President, your wonderful and beautiful son Kareem would be with you now, and so would the sons and daughters of others, including all of those who died in the vicious Kabul airport attack.
“Civilians should have been brought out first, along with our $85 billion of equipment, with the Military coming out very safely after all was clear. I love you, and I love Kareem.”
After the comments made by Trump, Chappell released another Facebook post on Sept. 2, thanking Trump for his “beautiful response” and asking him to pay his respects at her son’s funeral.
“It would be such an honor to meet the real President of the United States of America, President Trump,” she said. “I love you and America loves you.”
Chappell also believed that her social media accounts have been “shadow banned” following Instagram’s disabling of her profile. She said she needs people to share her remarks in the hopes that Trump sees them.
Facebook also made an apology after they admittedly, but incorrectly, took down Chappell’s account after her attack on Biden became viral. “I am assuming it was because I gained so many followers over my son’s death due to Biden’s negligence, ignorance and him being a traitor,” Chappell wrote in another Facebook post.
Facebook did restore her account but did not say why they removed it. “We express our deepest condolences to Ms. Chappell and her family. Her tribute to her heroic son does not violate any of our policies,” a Facebook spokesperson was cited by media reports as saying.
“While the post was not removed, her account was incorrectly deleted and we have since restored it.”
Trump released another statement on Sept. 6, saying: “Thank you Shana, our country loves you and especially loves your beautiful boy, Kareem.”
There is still no statement from Trump’s office regarding his plans to attend the funeral.
