Two yet-to-be-identified people in separate incidents have fallen victim to a possible road rage shooting in northwest Harris County, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) said in a Twitter post Saturday.
According to the post, the deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s office were dispatched to two different scenes where they found two people who sustained gunshot wounds.
One of the injured was found on W. Little York at Brittmoore. The other victim was found on W. Little York on Sam Houston Parkway at around 6 p.m. on Saturday.
Police say that both victims were already transported to a nearby local hospital. The announcement also said that one of them was brought to a hospital in a critical condition.
As of press time, the deputies didn’t reveal more information regarding the two victims. The deputies who responded to the call for help did say that they are investigating the possibility of the incident being caused by road rage in Harris County.
Meanwhile, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez of the HCSO posted about the incident on Twitter. His post read: “@HCSOTexas units are investigating a possible road rage shooting. Netizens could not help but express their thoughts regarding the incident, especially after the permitless carry law was enacted and implemented starting September 1.
A man whose name appeared on Twitter as Tim Washington (@coachtw18) expressed his sympathies to the men in uniform whom he thinks will be affected by the new state law on guns.
He said, “And the state wants to give everyone a weapon? Thinking face So sad.. Texas is going back to the wild west days. Feel for the men in blue.”
Another one whose Twitter handle appears only as @darlenemcki, is seemingly mocking the new state law as she asks about how the last deputy who was shot during an incident a few days ago.
Some netizens, on the other hand, bluntly said the incident is simply senseless. No other information regarding the two incidents was released.
