Khalil Shakir began his football journey at Boise State in 2018, playing in 10 games as a true freshman with one start. During that season, he had 16 receptions for 170 yards, one through the air, and one touchdown on the ground. Entering his sophomore year in 2019, Shakir started five of 14 games, recording an impressive 63 receptions for 872 yards, including six receiving touchdowns and three rushing touchdowns.
In his junior year in 2020, Khalil Shakir continued to shine, starting in all seven games and garnering 52 receptions for 719 yards and six touchdowns. Returning for his senior season in 2021, he had an excellent year, catching 77 passes for 1,117 yards and scoring 7 touchdowns.
The Buffalo Bills recognized Khalil Shakir’s talent and selected him in the fifth round, 148th overall, in the 2022 NFL Draft. Making an impact in his rookie season, he scored his first touchdown in Week 5 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, contributing to Buffalo’s 38–3 victory. Throughout the season, he played in 14 games, making 10 receptions for 161 receiving yards and scoring one receiving touchdown.
