Settlement of Verizon Class Action 2024:

If the settlement is accepted, Verizon will contribute $100 million to the Settlement Fund. The town also consists of:

  • The first thing this money will be used for is compensation to Settlement Class Members.
  • Assume the cost of mailing settlement class members’ notifications, checks, and electronic payments.
  • Pay the court-awarded legal fees and costs of the attorneys the Court assigned to represent the class, together with any service awards granted to the plaintiffs.

Even if you make a claim by the deadline and are entitled to payment, which could be as much as $100.00 for your account, the ultimate amount may be less depending on how long you were a Verizon customer and how many Settlement Class Members file.

Claim Structure:

If you received a notice about this settlement by mail or email, Verizon’s records show that you are a member of the Settlement Class. You can file a claim if you want to get paid out of the settlement.

  1. First, you must check your mail to confirm your eligibility.
  2. Look for a form to submit at www.VerizonAdministrativeChargeSettlement.com.
  3. You should get a Notice ID and Confirmation Code in your mailbox.
  4. Following logging in, you must enter the necessary data by the instructions.
  5. Ensure that the information you provide is current and accurate to receive the settlement payout.
  6. Then, if necessary, you must submit the required papers.
  7. After that, you must verify your data again and submit the Claim Form.

Amount of Per Person Payout in the Verizon Class Action Settlement:

If you file a legitimate claim by the deadline, your account may get paid up to $100.00; however, the actual amount might be less, depending on how long you were a Verizon customer and how many Settlement Class Members file valid claims.

Individuals may get a minimum payment of $15 plus an extra $1 each month from January 1, 2016, until November 8, 2023, when they pay the administrative charge and utilize cellular or data services. You must file a claim before the deadline of April 15, 2024, to be compensated.

Suitable:

A settlement claim may be made if:

  • If you were a Verizon postpaid client between November 8, 2023, and January 1, 2016.
  • Verizon imposed an administrative fee or a Telco Recovery charge during that period, which you paid.
  • Verizon’s records indicate that you should have received an email or a postal notification if you meet the requirements. These emails provide the ID and confirmation numbers required to submit a claim.

The Court Renders an Approval Decision:

The Fairness Hearing will occur on March 22, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in the New Jersey Superior Court at 56 Paterson St., New Brunswick, New Jersey 08903-0964. The hearing might occur remotely or over the phone or be postponed without warning to a different day or time. Please visit www.VerizonAdministrativeChargeSettlement.com for changes or revisions. During the Fairness Hearing, the Court will determine whether to accept the settlement as adequate, reasonable, and fair.

The Court will also examine Settlement Class Counsel’s motion for costs, attorneys’ fees, and service awards. The Court will take timely objections into account.

Choice to Refuse Settlement:

If you decide against accepting a settlement, you can still sue Verizon separately for administrative fees, but since class action settlements often yield more significant recovery, you will be on your own for your legal costs.

Opting out is a stupid gamble that comes with forfeiting a free monetary payout. To opt-out, send a signed letter by February 2024.

Rejecting the Settlement:

Customers may object in writing to the settlement terms by February 26, 2024. On March 22, 2024, objections were heard during the final court approval hearing. Objectionables include, but are not limited to, stringent qualifying requirements, inadequate funds, and excessive legal costs.
