Savanah Soto was last seen two days before Christmas in Leon Valley, about ten miles north of San Antonio. The day she went missing, she was expected to be induced into labor. The Texas Department of Public Safety released this photo of pregnant Savanah Soto. Soto, 18, was last seen in Leon Valley, roughly 10 miles from downtown San Antonio, on December 23. According to local sources, Soto was due to be induced that day but did not appear at the hospital. A pregnant 18-year-old Texas woman who went missing over the weekend is thought to have died along with her boyfriend.
What Happened to Savanah Soto?
According to San Antonio Police Chief William McManus, investigators believe the two deaths discovered in a car are those of Soto and her boyfriend and that “detectives are right now looking at this as a possible murder.” “We don’t know for sure,” he said, adding that the bodies’ identities would have to be confirmed by a medical examiner. “This is a highly confusing crime scene… It’s an intricate scene.” He stated he didn’t know if there was a weapon in the car and that the dead had been there for several days. The automobile was discovered not far from Soto’s flat. As McManus made the sad announcement, a woman could be heard sobbing in the background.
Who was Savanah Soto?
Gloria Cordova, Soto’s mother, wrote in a Facebook post a few days before Christmas that her daughter did not show up for her doctor’s appointment, was with her boyfriend “who is no good,” and was concerned for her daughter’s safety. One family member responded to the message, saying, “Dear Lord, please protect her and her baby from the evils of this world.” Soto was recently photographed in a figure-hugging outfit with flowers draped over her abdomen, appearing like a joyous mother-to-be.
Earlier statements from the Police Department:
Soto was reported missing by family members who were worried about the young mother because she was pregnant and had beyond her due date. The San Antonio Police Department, the first law enforcement agency contacted by the family, issued a Clear Alert for Soto. The department sought more witnesses and information to aid the investigation. “Savannah Nicole Soto’s well-being is of the utmost concern to us,” authorities stated before the bodies were discovered. “We encourage everyone to assist us in locating Ms. Soto, assuring her safety, and uniting her with her family.”
