Brooke Shields’ Trauma From Her Childhood Revealed
Brooke Shields, a famous actress, recently opened up about a traumatic experience from her childhood.
As an 11-year-old, she was cast as a child prostitute in the 1978 film Pretty Baby and was forced to kiss a 27-year-old actor on-screen. To make matters worse, her mother, who was present on the set, did nothing to protect her daughter.
Brooke Shields, who is now 57 years old, expressed her difficulty in comprehending why her mother, Teri Shields, did not take any action during the traumatic experience she went through. Shields also shared that her two daughters, Rowan (19) and Grier (16), refuse to watch the film as they discuss the issue, according to Daily Mail.
Brooke Shields recalls feeling repulsed by the kissing scene and even remembers the director snapping at her for making a face during the shoot. According to a published article in Mirror, her co-star, Keith Carradine, tried to reassure her that it was all pretend, but the damage had already been done.

Brooke Shields Admits She Finds it Difficult Recall the Incident
Now, as an adult with two daughters of her own, Brooke Shields admits that she finds it difficult to talk about the incident. In fact, she struggled to explain to her daughters why she had participated in the film.
During a scene in her upcoming documentary, also titled Pretty Baby, Brooke Shields is seen sitting with her daughters as they discuss the film. One of her daughters even remarks that the movie is “child pornography,” which highlights just how disturbing the situation was. Brooke Shields stated that she would not have allowed her own children to be involved in the ‘pornographic’ situation that she was made to participate in as a child star.
Brooke Shields’ story sheds light on the mistreatment of child actors in the entertainment industry. It’s clear that the adults in charge were more concerned with creating a “realistic” film than with the well-being of the young actors involved.
Overall, Brooke Shields’ story is a reminder of the importance of protecting children in the entertainment industry.
