A nine-year-old student of Pine Hills Elementary School, T’yonna Major was killed, along with Spectrum News 13 reporter Dylan Lyons and Nathacha Augustin.
A tragic Orlando shooting has left three innocent victims dead, including a nine-year-old girl, T’yonna Major, who was fatally shot inside her home. The school’s principal of Pine Hills Elementary School, LaTonya Smothers, where T’yonna Major was enrolled, expressed her condolences in a message to parents and showed support to students and staff who may be struggling with the news.
According to Fox News, Spectrum News 13 reporters Dylan Lyons and Nathacha Augustin were also killed in the attack. Lyons and Augustin were covering a previous homicide in the area when they were shot by Moses, who then entered Major’s home and opened fire.
The two journalists were shot around 4 p.m. Wednesday while preparing for a live report. They were at the scene of an earlier homicide where a woman was found shot to death in her vehicle around 11 a.m. that morning. Lyons’ photographer, Jesse Walden, was also shot in the attack but survived.
The suspect was identified as Keith Melvin Moses, 19 years old.

According to New York Times, after allegedly shooting the reporter and photographer near their own news vehicle, Moses allegedly took off around the intersection and entered T’yonna Major’s home. Moses allegedly shoots T’yonna Major and her mother.
The motive for the shooting is still unknown, and investigators are working to determine the relationship between the suspect and the victims. Moses has a lengthy criminal history, including charges related to guns, assault, burglary, and grand theft. His connection to the victims is still unclear, although the female victim from the earlier homicide was believed to be an acquaintance of his.
As the investigation into the shooting continues, many are praying with the families of T’yonna Major, Dylan Lyons, and Nathacha Augustin. It is hoped that the perpetrator of this senseless violence is brought to justice, and efforts are put in place to prevent similar disasters from occurring in the future.
