Illinois Man Indicted with 20 Counts of Child Pornography Possession and Distribution

An Illinois man, Christopher M. Scholl, 44, has been indicted on 20 counts of child pornography possession and distribution, according to the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office. The charges allege that Scholl possessed and disseminated “multiple” child pornography videos.

The alleged crimes took place before February 3, 2023, and Scholl was arrested on February 17. The seriousness of the charges is reflected in the $100,000 bail that was set by a Kane County judge. To apply for a bond, Scholl must come up with $10,000.

According to Fox News, as a condition of his bail, Scholl is not allowed to have any unsupervised contact with individuals younger than 18 years of age. He is also prohibited from accessing file-sharing websites, social media platforms, or pornographic websites.

In Illinois, possession of child pornography is a Class 2 felony, which carries a prison sentence of three to seven years and a fine of up to $25,000.
