For the year 2023, Americans could benefit from a new tax credit proposal. Mayor Jondavid Longo of Slippery Rock Borough in Pennsylvania has suggested a plan to give a $250 tax credit to first responders in the community. This proposal aims to help and give honor first responders for their commitment and bravery.

According to a published article in the US Sun, the proposed tax credit will be funded by Slippery Rock’s $50,000 budget surplus, and it is expected to take effect in March. However, for the plan to move forward, it must be approved by the Slippery Rock Borough Council.

Who is Eligible?

For you to be eligible for the credit, you must be a first responder; which includes law enforcement, firefighters, and emergency medical technicians. You must also be living in Slippery Rock. The council has the authority to decide whether to increase or decrease the amount of the proposed tax credit.

An agreement is expected to be reached by the end of February as the council holds meetings on the first and third of every month at 7 pm.

This new tax credit proposed is a great initiative aimed at recognizing the efforts of first responders in their state. The tax credit will be funded by Slippery Rock’s $50,000 budget surplus and worth up to $250. For eligibility, you must be a first responder living in Slippery Rock. The proposal is expected to be approved by the end of February, and the tax credit will take effect in March.
