Southwest Houston: 16-Year-Old Shot During Shootout At Parking Lot

A 16-year-old boy was shot in a shootout in southwest Houston and police are investigating the incident. It happened at a shopping center located at 12500 Bellaire Blvd. on Thursday evening.

During the incident which took place around 5 p.m., a fight erupted among a group of teenagers and the altercation resulted in a shooting. The fight broke out at the restaurant’s parking lot, and there was an exchange of gunfire. The teenagers reportedly used several guns, and several shots were fired, ABC 13 reported.

It is unclear if the teenager was also part of the groups of teens who had an altercation. Police said that the teenager was transported to the hospital via a private car. It was not stated if the teenager was with anyone when he showed up at the hospital. The condition of the teen is unclear, but he is reportedly expected to survive.

Witnesses are now working with the police so their accounts can be recorded. A description of the shooters is yet to be released. Also, police did not say if any of them will be arrested or charged.
