At the peak of the pandemic, several Covid-19 relief packages were passed, including federal stimulus packages for Americans. However, these were not made for reproducibility. While another stimulus package is unlikely to pass at the federal level, some states are still offering UBI or guaranteed income to their citizens. Currently, Alaska has distributed checks to its citizens as part of a perpetual fund dividend.
The fund is designed to provide citizens of the state with a share of the state’s oil revenues. The sovereign wealth fund pays annual dividends to qualified citizens. To qualify, you must have resided in Alaska for at least one year, but you are not eligible if you have been convicted or imprisoned for a state crime.
