South Carolina: $800 Tax Refund After Filing 2021 Tax Returns

Refunds are based on a person’s tax liability in 2021, which is the amount left after deducting credits from the income tax that a filer may owe. The Department of Revenue has limited the maximum amount of people who can get this rebate to $800, according to state law. The payments will arrive on December 31 of this year.

Due to the $800 limit, for those with a tax liability of less than $800, their remit will be equal to their tax liability, while those with a tax liability of $800 or more will receive exactly $800.

The Money from this payment will be transferred to the same bank accounts that people who received their 2021 refunds. This payment will be made by New Year’s Eve to South Carolina residents who filed their 2021 SC1040 tax return by October 17.

According to a published post by Washington Examiner, this payment can be tracked online and is available to anyone who wants to know when they will be refunded. To use the tracking site, the applicant needs either a social security number or an individual taxpayer number on her SC1040 form.

South Carolina residents still have time to file their 2021 returns and receive this payment as the deadline is set for February 15 next year. Anyone who submits now after 2020 will receive their rebate in March 2023.
