Oklahoma suspect arrested after killing 4 at a marijuana farm

LACEY, Oklahoma >> Police reported late Tuesday that the suspect in the weekend slayings of four persons at an Oklahoma marijuana farm was taken into custody in the afternoon in South Florida.

According to a late-night Facebook post by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, Wu Chen was taken into custody by Miami Beach police just before 4 p.m. Central time without incident and transported to the Miami-Dade County Detention Center. It stated that the arrest occurred “when a car tag reader highlighted the vehicle he was driving.” The suspect, who will face extradition to Oklahoma, will be accused with murder and shooting with the intent to kill.

Additionally, OSBI shared a picture of the man sitting shoeless on a curb with what appears to be handcuffs around his back, which was provided by U.S. Marshals. Three men and one woman, all of Chinese descent, were reportedly shot dead and “executed” on the 10-acre (4-hectare) plot of land west of Hennessey, about 55 miles (90 kilometres) northwest of Oklahoma City, according to the authorities. A fifth victim, who is also a citizen of China, was hurt and transferred to a hospital in Oklahoma City.

The next-of-kin notification was still waiting “due of a considerable language barrier,” according to authorities, and the victims had not yet been officially named. They are all acquainted, Florence remarked. We don’t know if they are coworkers or related, but there is little doubt that they were all acquainted with one another. According to Florence, the Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Office first responded to a hostage situation at the farm and asked for assistance from state officials.

The suspect spent a significant amount of time inside that building prior to the executions starting, the OSBI stated in a news release earlier on Tuesday. “According to the preliminary results of the inquiry, this does not seem to be a random incidence.” The suspect was thought to know the victims, who were discovered dead Sunday night, according to OSBI Capt. Stan Florence, who made the statement the day before. They are all acquainted, Florence remarked. We don’t know if they are coworkers or related, but there is little doubt that they were all acquainted with one another. According to Florence, the Kingfisher County Sheriff’s Office first responded to a hostage situation at the farm and asked for assistance from state officials.
