Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton Receives Endorsement From Trump For Third Term

Former United States President Donald Trump recently endorsed Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton for a third term. Trump said he made such an endorsement because Paxton is “a true Texan.”

According to the former president, Paxton is “strong” when it comes to crimes, border security, gun rights, sound elections, and the United States Constitution in general. He added that Paxton would do everything he could to keep Texas safe and not let Texans down. After the endorsement of Trump, Paxton took to social media to say that he was honored to receive such support from Trump.

Trump’s comments came after allegations against Paxton were made that he abused his office to help a businessman from Austin. Paxton’s former aides made the allegations as they filed bribery and abuse-of-office charges against him. The case is now under the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

According to experts, Trump continues to have support from the Republican Party. His endorsement for Paxton is looked at as an influential one.

The other people running for the post of Texas Attorney General are Land Commissioner George P. Bush, the son of former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and grandson of former President George HW Bush and former state Supreme Court Justice Eva Guzman.

Bush seemingly reacted to the endorsement of Trump by posting this on social media, “I’m running for Attorney General because Texans deserve integrity and honesty from the office of Texas’ top law enforcement official. Texans deserve a candidate without a laundry list of existing and potential criminal indictments.”

Guzman, on the other hand, did not make any comment.
