The animation, ”Blue Lock” is directed by Tetsuaki Watanabe (Powerful Pro Yaky Powerful Kk-hen) at 8-Bit, with Shunsuke Ishikawa as associate director. Taku Kishimoto (Haikyu!!, Silver Spoon, 2019 Fruits Basket) is in charge of overseeing and authoring the show scripts, while Kaneshiro is in charge of the narrative. The conceptual adviser is Yutaka Uemura (director of Saga of Tanya the Evil).
The ’s protagonist designer and chief animation manager is Masaru Shindō (Macross Delta, Fruits Basket, My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU), while Kento Toya and Kenji Tanabe are also chief animations and character architects directors. The soundtrack is being composed by Jun Murayama, reports Anime News Network.
On Wednesday, the official website for the TV anime adaptation of Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yusuke Nomura’s Blue Lock soccer manga streamed a character promo video featuring Meguru Bachira.
Yoichi Isagi was featured in a video clip last month. The animation will launch this year and will feature the following actors:
- Meguru Bachira (Tasuku Kaito)
- Yoichi Isagi is played by Kazuki Ura.
- Rensuke Kunigami is played by Yki Ono.
- Hyma Chigiri as Sma Sait
The Plot
The comic is being printed in English digitally and also in print by Kodansha Comics, which summarises the plot as follows:
Japan’s squad is struggling to rebuild after a humiliating loss in the 2018 World Cup. What’s missing, though? An outstanding ace striker capable of leading them to victory. The Japan Football Association is hell-bent on developing a goal-hungry striker who craves win. And who could be the deciding factor in changing a losing match approximately? They’ve assembled 300 of Japan’s finest and brightest young players to help them do so. Who will emerge as the team’s leader…and will they be able to overpower and out-ego everybody in their path?
In August 2018, Nomura and Kaneshiro published the continuing manga in Weekly Shōnen Magazine. Last year, the manga took up the Best Shōnen Manga prize at Kodansha’s 45th annual Manga Awards.
