You don’t have to pay a huge amount for enjoying this summer in Houston. The temptation will be to patch things up and meet everyone or see everything that we all have been missing for even more than a year.
Now, the fun stuff is coming up again and we must enjoy our fullest. However, enjoying most of the summer may be costly. So, this year brings you something different at a very cost-effective price.
The list of some exciting stuff to do this summer is listed below:
- The Houston Center for Contemporary Craft – It focuses on art constructed using traditional craft tools such as clay, fiber, glassware, metals, wood, and found or recyclable content. Experience the Resident Artist Hall and the workshops of the Center’s artists-in-residence. Bookings must be made before July 1st.
- Zoo at Houston – The first Tuesday of the month will be seeing a variety of non-native Houston creatures for free. Just make sure to sign up for your reservation ahead of time.
- Museum at Houston – It is not always free, however, every Thursday the museum’s established displays are free to view. The hours for free Thursdays vary depending on the season, so check the HMNS web page before scheduling your visit.
- Smither Park – In Smither Park’s sculpture garden, you’ll find some genuinely awe-inspiring (and gigantic) mosaic pieces of art. Furthermore, if you truly want to see how the art comes alive, experts do it every Saturday at work.
- MFAH’s Cullen Sculpture Garden – The Museum of Fine Arts in Houston has a lot of material on its facilities. Anish Kapoor, Louise Bourgeois, Joan Miró, and Henri Matisse —are among the artists whose works are on display at the Cullen Sculpture Garden.
- The Menial Collection – The audience always seems to be welcome to see one of Houston’s most recognized artworks, and it is always free and available to the public. If you’re on campus, stop by the Rothko Chapel for some peaceful reflection. However, scheduled reservation tickets are needed.
- Montrose Market – Every Sunday on Westheimer, explore vintage apparel, art, jewelry, and other products from local merchants. In addition, free beer is generally always available.
- Market Square Park in Houston – Aside from being a lovely spot for a barbecue, walking the dog, or simply taking in the landscape, Market Square Park in Houston hosts several free activities all through the month, featuring movie screenings, bingo, and much more.
