Texas Takes the Lead on High Job Record!

Texas has set a new record for job growth, outpacing the national average and adding over 650,000 jobs from January 2022 to January 2023, according to a press release of the Office of the Texas Governor site. The State’s powerful job record can be attributed to the hard work of Texans and Texas employers, as well as Governor Greg Abbott’s policies aimed at boosting economic growth.

With job growth at 5.0 percent, Texas surpassed the national job growth rate of 3.3 percent over the same period. Governor Abbott praised the State’s employers for their investments in the workforce and highlighted the need to continue expanding opportunity in the State. He cited plans to cut property taxes, invest in workforce development, upgrade infrastructure, and implement strategic economic development tools to ensure Texas remains a top state for business.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics employment report also noted that Texas broke its record for total jobs in January for the 16th consecutive month, reaching a new high of 13,782,300 total jobs. This achievement speaks to the State’s sustained economic growth and vitality.
